Extension Modules: Mesh Reducing

With the extension module Mesh Reducing you can reduce the number of triangles in a triangle mesh or a selected area.

This module helps you to reduce the resolution of existing triangle meshes and thus to prepare them for further processing and/or analytical steps. A low-resolution triangle mesh can be processed with lower computational efforts.

Functionality

• Select the desired number of triangles of the object or a selected area
• Define subareas of the triangle mesh which are to be affected by the reduction
• Adjustment for edges of triangles in reduced areas
• Prioritize smoothing or excluding object edges of the triangle object during reduction
