Extension Modules: Mesh Refining

The extension module Mesh Refining offers various methods and settings to refine complete triangle meshes or selected triangles.

This module helps to increase the resolution of existing triangle meshes and thus to prepare them for further processing and/or analytical steps.

Functionality

• Different methods to choose from: Star, Similar and Edge Split
• Limitation criteria for triangles affected by the refinement operation
• Iterative refinement, e.g. to eliminate nonuniform resolutions in a triangle mesh
• extrapolation to the number of triangles after the triangle refinement has been performed
