Extension Modules: Filter Points
The extension module Filter Points support reducing resolution of 3d point clouds, eliminating outliers or suppressing measurement noise.
Functionality
- Various filtering methods are available for point filtering
- The target resolution can be influenced very easily
- An exact target resolution (rasterization) can be specified
- An estimated number of points after filtering is displayed
Rasterization / Smoothing
- Filter method for noise reducing data reduction
- Generate a point grid with the same spacing
- Thinning out point measurement data, when the actually measured values are received
- Data reduction and smoothing of measurement data
Removing outliers
- Automatically remove isolated single points
- Determine and remove sparsely occupied point areas
- Removal of point clusters that fall below a percentage of the total data set
