Final Surface offers a wide range of optional extension modules. These add special functions to the main software and can be integrated into the software at any time. On this page you will find an overview of the extensions we offer.
The extension module Analyze Curvature provides support to compute local curvature for points in point clouds or triangle meshes.
Using the extension module Analyze Distances you can visualize and analyze local distances between point clouds or triangle meshes and reference objects.
CAD File Formats
The extension module CAD File Formats extends the main software by further file formats for computer-aided design applications. These can be imported and processed as 3D data sets.
The extension module Color Processing allows you to adjust the colors of point clouds or triangle meshes, to select parts of these objects regarding their color or to transfer colors of points, triangles or textures to point or triangle colors.
The extension module Dimensioning provides support to attach different dimensioning objects to 3d objects. These are visualized along scene objects and can be used for documenting purposes, e.g. by saving screenshots or rendering the scene to an image.
The extension module Filter Points support reducing resolution of 3d point clouds, eliminating outliers or suppressing measurement noise.
The extension module Laser Scanning provides support to control terrestrical laser scanner (TLS) from different manufacturers and to visualize and edit scan results (3d point clouds) directly.
Laserscan File Formats
The extension module Laserscan File Formats extends the main software by further file formats for laser scan applications. These can be imported, processed and exported as 3D data sets.
The extension module Manage Submeshes provides support to analyze the topology of triangle meshes to find submeshes.
The extension module Matching let you accurately reference and align different 3D datasets (of one object) to each other.
With the extension module Mesh Healing you can check triangle meshes for possible holes and close them seamlessly with new triangles.
With the extension module Mesh Reducing you can reduce the number of triangles in a triangle mesh or a selected area.
The extension module Mesh Refining offers various methods and settings to refine complete triangle meshes or selected triangles.
The extension module Mesh Resampling provides support to transform a triangle mesh to have a specified target mesh resolution. The resulting mesh has an uniform triangle resolution on the complete mesh surface.
The extension module Mesh Smoothing offers support to smooth surfaces of triangle objects and therefore to eliminate undesirable surface roughness (e.g. caused by the scanning process).
The extension module Scripting provides support to edit and execute simple Lua scripts to create and modify 3d objects. Using such scripts may significantly facilitate repetitive, otherwise interactive data processing sequences.
The extension module Triangulation offers the functionality for generating triangle meshes from point clouds (for example 3D scan datasets). This feature allows to reconstruct the surfaces of scanned objects.
